Big Sky Retreat

We are now offering Big Sky as a retreat - you can book the whole property. We are putting our food offering on hold for a year, but you have the use of Smokie D’s shack and BBQ or a beautiful kitchen in the renovated school hall.

Big Sky Retreat is the perfect getaway. From here you can enjoy all that the Banks Peninsula has on offer.

Big Sky Retreat is a slice of paradise at French Farm on the Banks Peninsula, just over an hour from Christchurch and 15 minutes from Akaroa.

Big Sky Retreat can accommodate eight adults - two double bedrooms in the main house and two beautiful yurts, far enough away for privacy, but close enough that you all feel together.

Each room has its own bathroom and is very private.

It’s the perfect location for a family reunion or a getaway with friends.

Haere mai - Welcome

Big Sky is a unique, hosted eco-farm stay with luxury glamping in two beautiful yurts at French Farm, Banks Peninsula and two double rooms in the main house, a beautiful renovated old school hall.

We would love to share our space with you.

The views from Big Sky through the day are vast and tranquil, but it is the night sky and the opportunity to stargaze that make it really special.

From Big Sky you can enjoy all that the Banks Peninsula has on offer.

We look forward to sharing our piece of paradise with you.

To rent Big Sky Retreat the cost is $900 ($225 per room).

Location

We are located at French Farm one of the most peaceful bays that make up Banks Peninsula – just one hours drive from Christchurch.

We are a 15 minute drive from Akaroa. A quaint harbour town, with a French theme. Here you can taste the most delicious fudge and search for gems and crystals in beautiful jewellery stores. Dolphin watching is also available. There are also lovely art galleries and cosy cafes, with croissants, baguettes and good coffee.
